Binance has added Bittensor's TAO and ASTER to its Simple Earn Locked Products lineup, opening subscriptions on August 1 at 02:00 UTC on a first-come, first-served basis. The listing gives holders of both tokens a way to earn a fixed yield by locking their holdings for a set term rather than leaving them idle in a spot wallet.

For TAO, Binance is offering 2% APY on a 7-day lock and 2.9% APY on a 90-day term, with subscriptions capped between 0.01 and 200,000 TAO per user. ASTER holders can choose between 2.19% APY over 7 days or 2.69% APY over 90 days, with a per-user subscription range of 0.1 to 1,000,000 ASTER.

How the Terms Work

Rewards begin accruing daily starting the day after a subscription completes, and the unlock period for both products runs one day once a term ends. Users who need their funds back early can redeem ahead of schedule, with assets returned within 72 hours — though early redemption forfeits any rewards accrued during the lock. Binance is also offering auto-renewal, letting a subscription roll into a new term automatically once it matures.

Users can fund a subscription either by buying TAO or ASTER directly on Binance's spot market or by purchasing with fiat through Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, then routing the tokens into the Earn section to start the lock.

Part of a Broader Locked Earn Push

The TAO and ASTER listings extend Binance's Simple Earn Locked Products catalog, which the exchange has used to give holders of a wider range of tokens — beyond just Bitcoin and Ethereum — a low-friction way to generate yield without moving funds to a separate DeFi protocol. Given the strict per-user subscription caps on both tokens, allocations are likely to fill quickly once the window opens.
