Binance has introduced a new borrowing product called Lite Loan, aimed at users who want short-term liquidity without having to sell their bitcoin holdings. The exchange described the feature as designed to make crypto-backed borrowing simpler than its existing loan offerings.

Under Lite Loan, users can borrow up to 1,000 USDT against their BTC. Binance is currently charging a promotional fixed upfront fee of 0.5%, down from the standard 1% rate, and the exchange says loans taken out under the product will not face price-triggered liquidation during the initial 30-day term.

A Simpler Alternative to Standard Crypto Loans

Binance positioned Lite Loan as a streamlined entry point for users who find its standard loan products too complex or who only need a modest amount of short-term liquidity. Rather than actively managing a loan-to-value ratio against market swings, users borrowing through Lite Loan are shielded from forced liquidation for the first month of the loan term, according to the exchange.

Fits a Broader Trend in Crypto-Backed Credit

The launch adds Binance to a growing list of exchanges building out lending products that let holders access cash or stablecoins while keeping their long-term bitcoin position intact. For users who believe in BTC's long-term value but need short-term liquidity, products like Lite Loan offer an alternative to selling into the open market and potentially missing out on future price appreciation.
