Binance is pushing a new corner of its derivatives platform this week: options contracts on gold and silver, settled in USDT and traded through the same interface as its crypto options products. The exchange described the flow as a three-step process — pick options, set a price and amount, then buy — pitching it as a way for users already comfortable trading crypto derivatives to add precious metals exposure without leaving the app.
A follow-up post from Binance framed the offering as an all-in-one venue for commodities exposure, telling users they could trade both gold and silver “settled in USDT” from what it called “your everything app for commodities.”

Metals are having a moment
The timing lines up with a strong run in precious metals markets. Gold and silver have added a combined $2.7 trillion in value over the past week alone, with gold up more than 7% to a multi-week high and silver climbing over 14% to levels not seen in roughly six weeks, according to market trackers. That backdrop gives Binance's push into metals-linked options a more immediate hook than a routine feature rollout would otherwise carry, letting the exchange market crypto-native tools against a live macro story rather than as a standalone product note.
Part of a broader diversification push
The move continues a pattern of large crypto exchanges layering traditional-asset derivatives on top of their existing infrastructure to capture trading volume beyond digital tokens. For Binance specifically, it follows a period in which the exchange's own futures volume has dwarfed its spot markets, with derivatives increasingly the primary venue where its users express price views. Extending that same options infrastructure to gold and silver gives the exchange another leveraged product line to offer during a stretch when metals volatility — not crypto volatility — has been the more active trade.

Binance has not disclosed volume figures for the new options product, and the offering remains available only to users in jurisdictions where Binance supports derivatives trading.
