Binance is pointing to a new milestone in its push to blend traditional and crypto markets: the exchange says roughly 60% of trading volume in TradFi perpetuals — perpetual futures contracts tracking stocks, ETFs and other traditional assets — now runs through its platform.
"The future of markets isn't TradFi or crypto. It's both," the exchange said, framing the shift as evidence that traders are increasingly choosing crypto-native infrastructure to gain exposure to traditional financial markets rather than going through conventional brokerages.
A Category Built From Scratch in 2026
Binance's TradFi perpetuals business barely existed a year ago. The exchange launched its first contracts, on gold (XAUUSDT) and silver (XAGUSDT), on January 8, 2026, operating the product under its regulated Abu Dhabi Global Market entity before expanding into equity and ETF-linked contracts. Since then, AMBCrypto reported that total TradFi perps volume has grown roughly tenfold this year, climbing from about $80 billion in January to $691 billion, and now accounts for close to 28% of all crypto futures trading volume industry-wide.
Binance's Grip on the Category
Within that fast-growing niche, Binance's dominance has been especially pronounced in equity-linked products: the exchange captured roughly 80% of traditional equity futures trading volume in June, with volume in that segment alone surpassing $53 billion. Its share of ETF perpetual futures specifically has been estimated as high as 74% as of July. Pre-IPO-linked contracts have reportedly been a particular growth driver within the category, giving traders synthetic exposure to private companies ahead of public listings.

Why It Matters for Crypto Exchanges
The buildout reflects a broader strategic bet among crypto exchanges that traditional-asset derivatives, rather than new token listings alone, represent the next major growth lever for trading volume and fee revenue. For Binance, positioning itself as the dominant venue for TradFi perpetuals gives it a foothold in a category that draws in traders who might otherwise never touch a crypto exchange, reinforcing its argument that on-chain rails are becoming the default infrastructure for trading exposure to both crypto-native and traditional assets alike.
