U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs pulled in a combined $129 million in net inflows on August 6, marking a fourth consecutive day of positive flows and extending a recovery that followed a noticeably weak July for the funds.

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust accounted for the bulk of the demand at $128.3 million, with smaller contributions from Fidelity's FBTC, VanEck's HODL, Franklin Templeton's EZBC and Invesco Galaxy's BTCO rounding out the day's total. Ethereum spot ETFs also logged net inflows on the same day, extending the recovery across both major crypto ETF categories.

Clawing Back From a Weak July

The four-day streak follows a stretch in which U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs collectively pulled in roughly $626 million between August 3 and August 5 alone, a sharp pickup in pace after flows had cooled through much of July. Bitcoin's price action has stayed comparatively steady through the swing in fund flows, suggesting the renewed institutional demand has so far been more about steady accumulation than a chase for a fast-moving rally.

Part of a Broader Pattern

The inflow streak lines up with the fresh start to August that both bitcoin and ether ETFs have posted, reinforcing that the early-month rebound wasn't a one-day blip tied to a single fund's rebalancing. Whether the streak holds into a second week will likely depend on how upcoming macro data — inflation prints and Federal Reserve commentary chief among them — shapes institutional risk appetite heading into the back half of August.
