US-listed spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs pulled in a combined $1.1 billion in net inflows for the week of August 3-7, their strongest joint showing since April. Spot Bitcoin funds accounted for $854 million of that total, while Ethereum ETFs added $245 million and extended their longest inflow streak of the year to five consecutive weeks, according to flow data tracked by SoSoValue.

The rebound in demand comes despite comparatively low trading volume across the category, suggesting the inflows reflect steady allocation from existing institutional buyers rather than a broad new wave of retail participation. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) captured the lion's share of the new capital, accounting for more than 80% of net Bitcoin ETF inflows in some tallies, with Fidelity's offering also posting meaningful additions.

A daily look at the trend continuing

The momentum carried into the following week: on August 10 alone, Bitcoin ETFs added a further $111.94 million in net inflows, while Ethereum ETFs brought in $56.78 million, pushing the trailing seven-day totals to roughly $798.68 million for Bitcoin funds and $224.97 million for Ethereum funds. That pace suggests the five-week Ethereum streak is on track to extend further rather than stall, even as Bitcoin's own price action has been choppier over the same window.

Why the streak matters

Sustained ETF inflows have become one of the cleanest signals of institutional demand available to the market, since the vehicles route capital directly from brokerage and retirement accounts into spot exposure rather than derivatives. A fifth straight week of Ethereum inflows alongside Bitcoin's best week since April gives some support to the more bullish end-of-year calls coming out of asset managers, even as both assets continue to trade in relatively tight ranges on a day-to-day basis.
