Bitget has added BMT to its PoolX platform, a staking product that lets users lock existing tokens in exchange for a share of newly listed project tokens. Under the new listing, users who lock tokens on PoolX will be eligible to share a pool of 600,000 BMT.

PoolX-style airdrop mechanics have become a standard tool for exchanges introducing new tokens, giving holders of established assets a way to gain exposure to a newly listed project without directly purchasing it on the open market first.

A Familiar Playbook for New Listings

By pairing the BMT listing with a fixed airdrop pool, Bitget is using a structure it has applied to numerous other token debuts: locking mechanisms reward users for committing capital to the platform for a set period, while the airdrop itself creates initial demand and awareness for the newly listed asset. The size of the reward pool, at 600,000 BMT, gives an indication of how much of the token's early circulating supply the exchange is willing to distribute through the promotion.

As with most new listings paired with staking incentives, the eventual value of the airdropped tokens will depend heavily on how BMT trades once broader spot trading activity begins.
