Bitrue has launched a tiered staking program for HYPE, the native token of the Hyperliquid perpetuals exchange, offering users several ways to earn yield on their holdings. The headline tier pays 6.5% APR on deposits of up to 400 HYPE for a 60-day term, while a separate limited-time offer pays 6% APR with no stated cap, and a third option lets users reinvest daily HYPE rewards to compound at an additional 3% APR.

The multi-tier structure gives depositors a choice between a higher but capped short-term rate and lower, more open-ended options, a common design pattern exchanges use to attract both smaller retail deposits and larger holdings without capping their total yield-product liability.

Competing for a token institutions are already accumulating

Bitrue's push for HYPE deposits comes as on-chain data shows sustained institutional interest in the token elsewhere in the market. Large holders have repeatedly withdrawn HYPE from institutional prime broker FalconX in recent months and staked it directly on Hyperliquid rather than routing it toward exchanges, with one recent cluster of withdrawals totaling $9.16 million across three wallets. That pattern suggests a segment of large holders is already prioritizing staking yield over liquidity, a dynamic that gives centralized exchanges like Bitrue a competitive incentive to offer attractive APRs of their own to keep deposits from migrating entirely toward direct on-chain staking.

Offering staking yield directly on an exchange also lowers the technical barrier for users who want exposure to HYPE's staking rewards without managing wallets or interacting with Hyperliquid's infrastructure themselves, a tradeoff of convenience against the marginally higher yields and custody control available through direct on-chain staking.

Terms and considerations

As with most exchange staking products, Bitrue's advertised APRs are typically variable and can be adjusted or capped as deposit volume changes, and users should note that assets locked into fixed-term tiers, such as the 60-day 400 HYPE cap, are generally not available for withdrawal or trading until the term completes. Bitrue has not disclosed a total cap on deposits accepted across all three tiers combined.
