Bybit's options trading platform has climbed to the No. 2 position globally by trading volume, according to figures released by the exchange. Bybit Options captured 22.4% of global options trading volume across the first half of 2026, with that share rising further to 27.7% in June alone.
The jump from a first-half average to a stronger June-specific figure suggests Bybit's options market share has been accelerating rather than holding steady, with the exchange gaining ground more quickly in recent months than its year-to-date average would suggest.
Competing at the Top of the Options Market
Options trading has become an increasingly competitive segment among major crypto derivatives exchanges, with a handful of platforms typically commanding the large majority of global volume. Reaching the No. 2 ranking places Bybit directly behind the market leader, and the exchange said it is now targeting the top spot.
Options volume share is often used as a proxy for how much professional and institutional flow a derivatives exchange is capturing, since options strategies tend to attract more sophisticated traders than simple spot or linear futures positions. A rising share therefore points to Bybit deepening its relationships with that segment of the market specifically, rather than simply growing overall exchange volume across all product types.
