Harry Chun Tak Yeh, an early Bitcoin investor and backer of the Fantom ecosystem, was found dead early Friday morning after falling from a luxury residential tower in Asunción, Paraguay. Police received a 911 call around 4:30 a.m. local time on August 9, 2026, and found Yeh's body at the base of the Jade Park complex.
Yeh had been investing in Bitcoin since 2013 and founded Quantum Fintech Group, which he described as overseeing more than $2 billion in digital-asset investments. He also founded LIF3 and L3 Reserve, and had backed decentralized finance projects including Tomb Finance within the Fantom ecosystem.
What Investigators Have Said So Far
According to IBTimes UK's reporting, authorities have not yet determined a cause of death, and are treating accident, suicide and foul play as possibilities still under investigation. Police examined apartments on both the 27th and 30th floors of the building; the 30th-floor unit was reportedly found with its doors open and the apartment in disarray. Yeh's partner, who lived on the 27th floor, told authorities she did not know what happened. No official finding has linked another person to the fall, and results from an autopsy and forensic examination are still pending.
A Figure in Fantom's Early DeFi Push
Yeh's background combined engineering with technology and finance work before he moved into crypto investing. His backing of Tomb Finance placed him among the earlier wave of investors who built out DeFi applications on Fantom during that ecosystem's growth period, alongside his broader work through Quantum Fintech Group.
