LBank has launched the Crypto Resilience Initiative, an expanded security program built on its existing collaboration with CertiK, the Web3 security firm that says it has detected more than 119,000 vulnerabilities and helped protect over $600 billion in digital assets across 150-plus countries since its founding in 2017. The initiative formalizes LBank's use of CertiK's penetration testing services and its participation in CertiK's bug bounty program as ongoing, rather than one-off, security practices.

According to the exchange, the program is meant to layer external, independent security assessment on top of LBank's existing internal defenses, which the company describes as including cold wallet custody, multi-signature authorization, behavioral analytics, AI-assisted risk detection, and continuous monitoring.

Security announcements as a competitive signal

Exchange security partnerships like this one have become a standard way for platforms to signal trustworthiness to users, particularly following a string of high-profile exchange and bridge hacks across the industry in recent years. Pairing an internal control stack with a named third-party auditor gives users an external reference point to evaluate an exchange's security claims, rather than relying solely on the platform's own assurances. CertiK's scale, as one of the largest Web3 security auditors globally, makes it a common partner of choice for exchanges looking to make that signal credible.

The timing is also notable given the wider industry backdrop: earlier this month, non-custodial swap provider Boltz shut down its Bitcoin bridging service after AI-assisted attacks began outpacing its ability to patch vulnerabilities, an episode that has sharpened attention across the industry on whether existing security processes, bug bounties, audits, and pen testing included, can keep pace with increasingly automated attack methods. A coalition led by the Bitcoin Policy Institute has since called on frontier AI labs to give security defenders better access to the same AI tools attackers are already using.

What the initiative covers

LBank's announcement frames the Crypto Resilience Initiative as an ongoing commitment rather than a fixed-term campaign, continuing penetration testing engagements with CertiK and maintaining LBank's standing participation in CertiK's bug bounty program, through which independent researchers can be compensated for responsibly disclosing vulnerabilities. The exchange has not disclosed specific bounty payout figures or the scope of systems covered under the current testing engagement.
