PLUME, the native token of real-world-asset network Plume Network, rose 16.6% after the project announced it had joined the DTCC Digital Assets Solutions Industry Working Group, placing it alongside more than 100 financial institutions including BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, Charles Schwab and Nasdaq that are collaboratively shaping the operational framework for tokenized securities in U.S. capital markets.
The announcement, made August 6, carries particular weight because of Plume's regulatory standing: the network has been registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a transfer agent since October 6, 2025. That designation legally authorizes Plume to maintain the official record of ownership for tokenized securities directly on its blockchain, rather than simply mirroring records held by conventional intermediaries such as banks or clearinghouses.
A Seat at the Table for Building Market Infrastructure
Membership in the working group means Plume will have direct input into how DTCC's broader Digital Assets Solutions initiative develops the plumbing for tokenized securities settlement, an area traditionally controlled entirely by legacy clearing infrastructure. For a project built specifically around bringing real-world assets on-chain, formal participation in the group that oversees how those assets ultimately settle is a meaningful validation of its regulatory approach relative to competitors that lack an SEC transfer agent registration.
Volume Followed the Price Move
Daily trading volume in PLUME rose 186% alongside the price gain, indicating the rally was driven by genuine new interest rather than thin order books amplifying a small move. The token's reaction fits a broader pattern this year in which real-world-asset tokens have tended to react more sharply to institutional partnership news than to typical crypto-market catalysts, a dynamic also visible in other tokenized-finance projects that have drawn exchange listings on the strength of traditional-finance backing rather than retail speculation alone.

Whether the DTCC association translates into concrete product integrations or simply reputational credibility over the near term remains to be seen, but the market's immediate reaction suggests traders are treating the news as a meaningful step rather than a symbolic one.
