Multi-asset broker PU Prime has launched XAUUSD247, a gold CFD product designed to let clients trade the metal around the clock rather than only during conventional market hours, the Mauritius-based firm announced on August 7, 2026.
The product runs on the MT5 trading platform and is available across the more than 190 countries where PU Prime operates. Daniel Bruce, the company's Managing Director, said gold CFDs have "consistently been among the most actively traded products on the PU Prime platform," and that the round-the-clock format gives clients "uninterrupted access to this precious metal."
A record year for gold
The launch lands in a year that has already delivered one of gold's most volatile stretches on record. Prices touched an intraday all-time high near $5,589 an ounce in late January 2026 amid Middle East tensions, before retreating to an intra-year floor of roughly $4,170 an ounce. The World Gold Council has named gold among the best-performing major assets of the past year despite that swing.
That volatility is a big part of why round-the-clock access matters to traders: gold's sharpest moves in 2026 have often come outside standard exchange hours, on headlines tied to geopolitics or central bank policy, leaving traders on standard-hours platforms unable to react until the next session opened.
Where forecasters see gold going next
Wall Street remains split on where gold heads from here. J.P. Morgan's Global Research team has forecast bullion pushing toward $6,000 an ounce by the end of 2026, with $6,300 seen as possible in 2027, while Goldman Sachs has set a more conservative December 2026 target of $5,400. Much of that bullish case rests on central banks, which are expected to buy somewhere in the range of 750 to 850 tonnes of gold this year — a historically elevated pace that JPMorgan and others describe less as a temporary rally driver and more as a permanent shift in reserve strategy, with roughly 43% of governments surveyed saying they plan to keep adding to reserves.
PU Prime, founded in 2015, says its app has surpassed 40 million downloads and that it offers trading across forex, commodities, indices, shares, and bonds in addition to the new gold product.
