Zcash has pushed back above the $500 mark, climbing 12.48% over the past week after bouncing from a local low of $451 on July 29, according to AMBCrypto. The level carries baggage: the last time ZEC rejected at $500, back in December 2025, it triggered a slide all the way down to $176 before buyers stepped back in.

The renewed push comes just days after the network's Ironwood upgrade activated on July 28. Ironwood appears to have restored some confidence among holders, but AMBCrypto's analysis notes it has not been enough on its own to pull in strong new capital — the recovery so far looks more like consolidation than a fresh breakout.

Two Zones That Matter

Analysts are watching $530 and $450 as the two “magnetic” liquidation clusters most likely to dictate ZEC's next leg. Price sweeps into either zone are expected to trigger sharp reversals rather than clean breakouts, since the moves look driven by liquidations rather than aggressive spot buying. On-balance volume has stayed flat through the rally, pointing to a rough equilibrium between buyers and sellers rather than the kind of one-sided demand that preceded ZEC's earlier run.

A Rally Built on More Than Charts

The current setup sits inside a much larger 2026 story for Zcash. The token surged as much as 650% to 1,000% off its 2024 lows, peaking near $642 on May 9 and briefly overtaking Monero as the largest privacy coin by market capitalization. Much of that move traces back to Multicoin Capital's May 5 disclosure that it had quietly built a significant ZEC position since early 2024, and to the SEC's decision on January 15 to close a nearly two-year investigation into the Zcash Foundation without enforcement action. Grayscale followed in May with an S-3 filing to convert its Zcash Trust into what would be the first US spot privacy-coin ETF.

Structure Split Across Timeframes

The daily chart still leans bullish, with the reclaim of $500 read as a signal of continued upward pressure. The 4-hour chart tells a more cautious story, showing a bearish structure that has yet to confirm the daily trend. Until buyers can hold above $500 with real volume behind it, traders are treating $530 and $450 as the boundaries most likely to define ZEC's next move rather than betting on an immediate breakout toward the old highs.
