Binance has added five tokens, Moonbeam (GLMR), ICON (ICX), Moonriver (MOVR), SuperRare (RARE), and Sophon (SOPH), to its Monitoring Tag list, according to Binance's official announcement dated August 11. The exchange said tokens carrying the tag exhibit relatively higher volatility and risk than other listed assets.

The Monitoring Tag doesn't remove a token from trading immediately. Instead, it flags projects that may no longer meet Binance's listing criteria across factors including team commitment, development activity, transaction volume and liquidity, network security, and how responsive the project is to the exchange's periodic reviews. Binance requires users to pass a risk-acknowledgment quiz every 90 days to keep trading tagged tokens, and it displays a warning banner on the relevant spot and margin pages.

The Tag Has Become a Reliable Early Warning

What makes this addition worth watching is the pattern behind it. Binance added ACT, BLUR, PIVX, and QKC to the Monitoring Tag on June 18, and tagged ALCX, ARDR, NFP, and POND on June 26; all four of that second batch were fully delisted by July 10, 2026. The tag has functioned less like a passive warning label and more like a countdown in recent months, and traders in GLMR, ICX, MOVR, RARE, and SOPH now face the same overhang that preceded those delistings.

None of the five tokens has been delisted, and Binance's tag doesn't guarantee that outcome. But the tag has moved markets before: prior monitoring-tag batches have triggered sharp sell-offs in tagged assets as traders price in delisting risk before Binance makes any final decision, and this batch spans tokens from very different corners of the market, from Polkadot parachain projects (GLMR, MOVR) to an NFT marketplace token (RARE) to a South Korean legacy layer-1 (ICX).

Binance has not indicated a timeline for reviewing the five newly tagged tokens, and holders will need to watch for further exchange communication to know whether the tag resolves with continued listing or, as with the June batch, an eventual removal from the platform.
