Binance has switched on zero-fee transfers between traditional share holdings and its tokenized bStocks product, live now on both the exchange's web platform and mobile app. The change lets users move existing equity positions into on-chain bStocks tokens, or convert back, without paying a conversion fee in either direction.

bStocks, which Binance launched in June through its broker-dealer entity Nest Trading Limited, represents U.S. equities and ETFs as 1:1-backed tokens that trade 24/7 on BNB Chain rather than being limited to traditional market hours. Existing shareholders of the underlying companies can convert their holdings into the tokenized equivalent at par, then hold, transfer, or deploy the tokens across BNB Chain-compatible wallets and DeFi applications.

Momentum Behind the Product

The fee waiver follows a strong month for the underlying product, with monthly bStocks volume surging to $8.8 billion in July as the exchange continued expanding the lineup with additions like ASML and Netflix. Removing the friction of conversion fees between real shares and their tokenized counterparts is a direct bid to keep that momentum going by making it cheaper for existing shareholders to move into the on-chain version. The push follows a similar pattern to Binance's other stock-linked expansions, including its recent addition of leveraged chip-stock and China-listed equity perpetuals, part of a broader effort to fold traditional equities into the exchange's core product lineup.

Betting on 24/7 Equity Trading

The zero-fee transfer sits alongside a broader maker-fee waiver Binance is running on bStocks trading pairs through the end of August, part of a wider effort by the exchange to establish tokenized equities as a mainstream product rather than a niche offering. For Binance, the appeal is straightforward: capturing trading activity that would otherwise sit dormant outside of Wall Street's open hours, while giving crypto-native users exposure to traditional equities without leaving the exchange's own ecosystem.
