Binance says its bStocks product accounted for 85% of on-chain tokenized equity trading volume in July, as total DEX volume for the category jumped from $2.9 billion to $8.8 billion over the course of the month. The figures mark a fast ramp for a product line Binance only introduced in June, when it launched fully-backed tokenized securities — issued by Binance affiliate BTech Holdings under an approved prospectus in the Abu Dhabi Global Market — covering names including Circle Internet Group, Micron Technology, Nvidia, Sandisk and Tesla.

bStocks let eligible users trade tokenized exposure to US equities 24/7, hold them on Binance, or self-custody them through BNB Chain-compatible wallets for use across supported DeFi applications. Binance has been explicit that bStocks are not shares in the underlying companies and confer no direct ownership stake — they're a synthetic, fully collateralized wrapper designed to move and settle like a crypto asset while tracking a stock's price.

The growth is real, but concentrated

The headline share number understates how lopsided the underlying activity actually is. Independent volume tracking has shown that a single product — Binance's tokenized Nasdaq-100 tracker, QQQB — has been responsible for the large majority of that on-chain volume, helped by a zero-maker-fee promotion running through August and a VIP volume multiplier program introduced in late July. In other words, July's surge reflects one heavily incentivized product finding product-market fit rather than broad-based demand across the full bStocks lineup, even as the category's overall market capitalization has crossed $500 million.

Part of a wider stock-tokenization push

The bStocks volume figures land in the same week Binance expanded its separate TradFi perpetuals lineup with new contracts on Meituan and Kuaishou, underscoring how central tokenized and derivative exposure to traditional equities has become to the exchange's growth strategy. One of bStocks' original five listings, tokenized Circle Internet Group shares, is also notable given recent debate among asset managers over whether Circle's stock is fairly priced — a reminder that tokenized-equity volume and the underlying stock's own price discovery are, for now, still two largely separate markets.
