Bitrue has added two new perpetual contracts to its futures platform, giving users leveraged exposure to UnitedHealth Group and a broad basket of technology-sector stocks through the $UNHUSDT and $XLKUSDT pairs. Both contracts support up to 25x leverage, the exchange said.
The UNH contract tracks UnitedHealth Group, one of the largest health insurers in the United States, while the XLK contract tracks the technology sector more broadly — giving traders synthetic exposure to two of the market's most closely watched sectors without holding the underlying equities.
Part of a Broader TradFi Push
The listings continue a pattern of exchanges expanding into tokenized or derivative exposure to traditional stocks and sector indexes, a category that has grown as crypto platforms compete for traders who want to speculate on equities without opening a separate brokerage account. Bitrue has rolled out similar leveraged tokens and perpetual products tied to individual U.S. companies and sector ETFs in recent weeks.
Perpetual contracts differ from traditional futures in that they have no expiration date, instead relying on periodic funding payments between long and short positions to keep the contract price aligned with the underlying asset. The high leverage on offer — up to 25x — means both potential gains and losses are magnified relative to spot trading.
Timing Around Earnings Season
The new listings arrive during a heavy stretch of U.S. corporate earnings reports, a period that typically brings higher volatility to individual stocks and sector-tracking instruments alike. Exchanges have increasingly timed new TradFi-linked listings to coincide with earnings season, when trader interest in stock-linked derivatives tends to spike.
