Transaction execution on the XRP Ledger climbed roughly 70% during the period tracked by on-chain data, even as XRP itself has struggled to hold above the psychologically important $1 level. The token traded around $1.06 at the time of reporting, with network activity showing about 15,000 active sending accounts and 170,000 daily active users — a figure that, despite month-to-month variation, remains near the top of its recent range.

The growth in transaction execution is attributed to three overlapping drivers: steady growth in payment activity, expansion of XRPL-based applications including token issuance, decentralized exchange trading, and automated market maker operations, and the network's basic efficiency profile, with transactions settling in seconds at extremely low fees. That combination has made the ledger increasingly attractive for use cases beyond simple value transfer.

Price Action Tells a Different Story

XRP's chart, however, hasn't followed the network's activity higher. The token remains below all of its major trend indicators: the 50-day and 100-day exponential moving averages have both rejected multiple recovery attempts, while the 200-day EMA sits near $1.39 and is still pointing lower. The Relative Strength Index remains below the neutral 50 threshold, and trading volume has steadily decreased through the recent consolidation, leaving momentum indicators broadly muted.

That split between usage growth and price stagnation isn't unique to XRP, but it is notable given how much of the ledger's recent narrative has centered on institutional-grade upgrades. Ripple leadership has described 2026 as a year of institutional adoption at scale for the network, with real-world asset tokenization on XRPL adding an estimated $2.3 billion in tokenized assets this year, driven in part by institutional players such as Ondo Finance, Guggenheim Treasury Services, and Archax expanding their use of tokenized treasuries and money-market products on the chain. Reports have also pointed to institutional allocation toward XRP climbing toward nearly 25% during the same window, up sharply from where it started the year.

Infrastructure Growth Without a Price Catalyst — Yet

The XRP Ledger has also been rolling out protocol-level changes aimed at courting regulated institutions, including permissioned domains on its native DEX that let participants meet KYC and AML requirements before accessing certain financial products, alongside continued work on AMM mechanics meant to reduce impermanent loss for liquidity providers. Those upgrades support the kind of DEX and AMM activity cited as a driver of the 70% jump in transaction execution.

For XRP holders, the open question is whether rising on-chain usage and institutional tokenization volume eventually feed through into price, or whether the token continues to trade on broader market sentiment regardless of what's happening at the protocol layer. With momentum indicators still muted and the 200-day EMA well above spot price, that catalyst hasn't arrived yet.
