Gate has opened its Futures Stocks section with an initial batch of 9 contracts, including instruments tracking Direxion's Daily 20+ Year Treasury Bull 3X Shares (TMF), ProShares' UltraShort 20+ Year Treasury (TBT), and the ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITO). The launch gives traders futures exposure to both long-duration Treasury bets and bitcoin-linked exchange-traded products from within a crypto exchange interface.
Pairing TMF and TBT, which take opposite directional views on long-term Treasury bonds, alongside BITO lets traders on the platform express macro rate views and bitcoin exposure through the same futures menu, without needing separate brokerage access to US-listed ETFs.
What the listed instruments track
TMF offers 3x leveraged exposure to gains in long-dated US Treasury bonds, a trade that benefits when interest rates fall, while TBT moves in the opposite direction, gaining when long-term Treasury prices decline as rates rise. BITO, one of the earliest bitcoin futures ETFs to launch in the US, tracks bitcoin exposure through futures contracts rather than direct spot holdings. Rounding out the listing are six additional futures pairs, bringing the total to 9 contracts in the new section.
Expanding beyond crypto-native products
The listing is part of a broader pattern among centralized exchanges of bringing traditional-finance instruments onto crypto trading rails, following similar recent moves by Gate itself in its CFD stocks section and by competitors such as Bitrue and Bybit with their own tokenized-stock and leveraged-ETF offerings. For Gate, folding rate-sensitive Treasury products in alongside a bitcoin ETF future signals an effort to capture demand from traders looking to hedge or speculate on macro interest-rate moves using the same account they use for crypto trading.
