Clients of Bitwise's spot XRP ETF bought $11.26 million worth of the token, according to on-chain tracking from Whale Insider, adding to a fund that has quietly become one of 2026's steadier institutional bids for XRP even as the token's price has traded sideways to lower for weeks.
The purchase is a small line item against the ETF's broader trajectory, but that trajectory is the more interesting story. Since launching in November 2025, the Bitwise XRP ETF has pulled in roughly $1.70 billion in cumulative net inflows and now holds about $520 million in assets, making it the largest XRP-focused ETF by both assets and daily trading volume. Over just the past three months, the fund hauled in $127 million in fresh money, more than a quarter of its entire asset base, a pace of growth that stands out against a broader altcoin ETF landscape where several products have struggled to hold onto assets at all.
Put in context, though, the inflows remain a rounding error against XRP's roughly $84 billion market capitalization. That gap matters for how the purchase should be read: it is genuine, sustained institutional demand, not a token gesture, but it is nowhere near large enough on its own to move XRP's spot price in a meaningful way. What ETF inflows of this kind tend to do instead is provide a steady, price-insensitive source of buying that offsets some of the token's more volatile retail and derivatives-driven flows, gradually shifting who holds the float even if it doesn't show up as a single dramatic price move.
The derivatives side of the market has been considerably louder. XRP futures activity recently climbed to a six-month high as leverage built up across exchanges, a sign that short-term traders are taking much bigger directional bets than the ETF buyers funneling money in through Bitwise. That contrast, patient institutional accumulation on one side, leveraged speculation on the other, is a familiar pattern for large-cap altcoins with an active ETF market, and it tends to make the token's near-term price action considerably choppier than the underlying accumulation trend would suggest on its own.

Not every institutional XRP holder has stuck around, which is worth noting given how uneven flows into the asset have been elsewhere. One Nasdaq-listed company that had held XRP on its balance sheet exited its position entirely earlier this year, redeploying into other assets that have since moved against it. The episode is a reminder that corporate treasury bets on any single altcoin, including one backed by a steadily growing ETF, still carry real timing risk that a diversified fund structure like Bitwise's is partly designed to smooth over for its own investors. For now, the $11.26 million purchase reads as one more data point in a slow, unglamorous accumulation story rather than a catalyst in its own right, the kind of flow that matters more in aggregate over months than it does on the day it happens. It also stands in contrast to Grayscale's more modest single-digit-million hauls into its LINK ETF, underscoring how much the appetite for altcoin ETF exposure still varies by asset, even among products marketed to the same institutional audience.
Part of that variance likely comes down to XRP's own regulatory clarity relative to peers still working through open questions with the SEC, which has made it an easier asset for compliance-conscious fund managers to greenlight for client portfolios. Whether that edge persists as more issuers roll out competing XRP products, and as the CLARITY Act's fate in the Senate reshapes the broader rulebook for how digital assets get classified, will likely do more to determine the ETF's next $500 million in inflows than any single week's purchase total.
